Fact or Myth? Summer is Officially Over, I Can Skip The Sun Screen.

the doctors are in

Your skin is exposed to the sun’s rays 365 days a year from sunup to sundown. While UVB rays are strongest from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. daily, aging UVA rays are as strong at 9 a.m. in late December as they are at 12 p.m. mid-August.

This is why wearing an effective broad-spectrum sunscreen daily is every bit as important in the fall as it is in the summer.

Wrinkles and Brown Spots, Oh My! What Should I Work On First?

I have Wrinkles and brown spots from spending too much time in the sun without proper protection. When I look in the mirror I look 10 years older! I want better looking skin. What should I work on first?  My freckles and brown spots or my wrinkles?

Dull skin, brown spots and freckles are all signs of sun damage. And no amount of anti-aging serums, lotions and potions will ever reverse their appearance.

Before you get aggressive with your anti-aging efforts, it is best to Reverse the damage caused by too much time in the sun by cleaning the slate with a hydroquinone-based regimen to clear away the skin clutter.

Not only will your skin look and feel smoother and more even, your anti-aging products will be more effective at addressing other issues like lines and wrinkles when the time comes.

Fact or Myth? Dull Skin Is a Normal Part of Aging

Dull, ruddy skin is not your destiny;

it’s actually an effect of sun damage and can be reversed with the right regimen. Dr’s. Rodan & Fields  recommend products that not only gently exfoliate but also include hydroquinone to lighten and brighten skin.

Combine that with consistent use of sunscreen all year long, for a brilliant more radiant you and smooth skin will be your ageless quality.

Let me help you restore yourself to a healthy brilliant glow!!

I’ll show you how!

Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone is one of the most misunderstood ingredients in skincare. This organic compound, found in blueberries, cranberries and other fruits and vegetables, is the only FDA-approved way to lighten skin discolorations.

And while it is available over-the-counter or with a prescription from your doctor, don’t book an appointment with your dermatologist just yet. The 4% by-prescription-only variety can be more irritating than the two percent found in OTC products, without guaranteeing better results. We find that 2% hydroquinone works extremely well when combined with exfoliation and sun protection.

Find 2% hydroquinone in Rodan + Fields REVERSE Skin Lightening Toner and REVERSESkin Lightening Treatment.

The Mask of Pregnancy

Melasma is a dark skin discoloration that appears on sun-exposed areas of the face. It is often associated with the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is especially common in pregnant women, women who are taking birth control pills (oral contraceptives) and women taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) during menopause. Melasma doesn’t cause any other symptoms besides skin discoloration but may be of great cosmetic concern.

The Reverse Regimen exfoliates, lightens, brightens and protects your skin for a more even tone and texture. Recognized on Allure Magazine’s A List.
